Each post this month of April will be a Devotional on the security we have in God. My hope is that God will use these words to encourage you on your daily paths.
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25
It’s your turn and all eyes are on you. You fold your hands over your knees, hesitating, wondering, if this small circle of kind people will really accept you. What if they knew? A day has passed since taking that chance, typing that message to someone you respect, that someone you hoped to develop a deeper relationship with, but it is still unanswered. Hurt, you ponder. Maybe he/she no longer likes me? Your hands hesitate over the keyboard, words of encouragement ready to flow, yet question if you qualify to be the messenger. Would they read these words if they knew my past ways?
When Jesus died on the cross He saved us. His presence with God in heaven assures us that he continues to be forgiving of our past, present, and future sins when we come to Him. We can be secure in knowing we are fully accepted by Him, not needing the acceptance of others to be forgiven. We can be assured that even though we feel disappointed, He is always looking out for our best interests. When we live in the grace of Christ we experience the freedom from guilt and failure to do His work. Let’s spread this good news by living out the security we have through Him and build His Kingdom as He is calling us to!
I’ll be on a blogging break from this place for a month as I dedicate writing time to another project that I think God has placed within me. I’ll take this step in faith and know whatever direction it takes me, I will be learning and growing! I will be dropping into your places from time to time, and hope you’ll connect with me on Instagram !
Thank you for this encouragement, Lynn! I’m so grateful we are always fully accepted by God. It’s hard to let go of that need to be accepted by people though, isn’t it? It’s an ongoing process for me. I will miss you, but I pray God will give you wisdom, guidance, and strength as you step out to do what God has called you to! Love and hugs to you!

It is so hard to let go of that need to be accepted by people. So many times that un-acceptance we feel or feelings of rejection have nothing to do with us, and is also God pulling us to turn where our worth is really found-in Him! I still hope to be visiting you over this next month, God willing! Hugs back to you.

Lynn: “When Jesus died on the cross He saved us. His presence with God in heaven assures us that he continues to be forgiving of our past, present, and future sins when we come to Him ” I feel I must share this with a friend of mine who goes through dealing with issues on her past.

I’ll pray for her Cecelia! I know it took me time to really get it that my past does not matter at all! Once taken to the cross, it’s forgiven and forgotten. The enemy wants to remind us of our mistakes to get a foothold so we doubt our worth to do God’s work and know His love. I pray your friend enter into the freedom of Christ’s grace!

We are completely accepted and we are totally forgiven. How comforting! When our past starts to inflict feelings guilt on us, we look at the cross and realize how valuable we are. Wish you all the best in your new project!

Lynn, great words. From time to time, I need the reminder that my security isn’t found in what others think of me, but in knowing Whose daughter I am. When I can remember that, I don’t worry so much about how others perceive my words and actions. I still get thrown sometimes, but I’m getting better. 🙂
I hope your writing break is fruitful!

Dear Lynn, I love that He wants us to know how secure He is for us. This is such a confirmation for me here, “We can be assured that even though we feel disappointed, He is always looking out for our best interests.” I am so thankful for this reminder that has come several times today to trust in HIS security and safety. May the Lord bless you while you are on your blogging break!

Hi Lynn!
Thank you for this beautiful blog post; you have some awesome images here, I think also. Being a Christian means, as you say, that we are forgiven and begin all over again. That’s truly a good story to share with our friends and the ones we love, isn’t it?
With love, Edna Davidsen

Ah, I love this because my gosh- there is always that little voice whispering “What about your past? SHAME. Are you really qualified to say that/ do that/ lead this ETC.” Thank you, Lynn.
And I can’t wait to see what you will be working on, friend! Praying for you as you pursue this new writing project!
