A Pathway to Goals & a little bit more

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path. Psalm 119:

Hello Readers!

I’ve been quiet here. But do plan to be back writing faithfully in a few weeks!

In the meantime this is what’s been going on…

Have you ever experienced that moment when your GPS voice says “recalculating?” That moment of hesitation, waiting for the new (correct/another) direction ? Since just before Christmas, I’ve been feeling like I’m in a recalculating moment.

Below is a quote from a post I wrote entitled A Pathway to Goals

“And I felt a God nudge to let go of all I understood and how I thought things should go–a God nudge to turn and prepare my heart for Him in the wilderness where He provides comfort, hope, and renewal.” You can read the entire post at Inscribe Writers Online

And have you ever commented on another blog and got an ah ha moment?

Below is my comment to The One Word That Almost Wasn’t

“I think I can understand too, your hesitation in not ‘doing’ as the world is always influencing us to do this, that, get better, take a course, join this program, read this devotional etc and then you’ll be a success, okay….everything will fall away if you stop. 🙂 When I think about a time of pruning, I also see a branch lifting up to receive the sunshine after being buried under a weight of extra…”

My branches are heavy and it’s a time to let go although I’m not sure all that I am to lessen…

A final note for now:

The entire life of Jesus isn’t the story of somebody climbing up the ladder; it’s a picture of someone coming down-a series of demotions. The problem with spending our lives climbing up the ladder is that we will go right past Jesus, for He’s coming down. John Ortberg

Then Jesus declared, “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

May He quench your thirst today.

Love, Lynn

  1. I love that you’re sharing and answering God’s nudge to you, Lynn. It encourages and inspires me to do the same. Thank you! It certainly isn’t easy to let go of how we think things should go, is it? Along with you this year, my desire is “to turn and prepare my heart for Him in the wilderness where He provides comfort, hope, and renewal.” John Ortberg’s quote is insightful, too. So true. Your lovely photos refresh my heart as always. 🙂 Yes, no matter which path we’re on, His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. As a lamp only lights what is right in front of us, God only shows us one step at a time the direction we should go. I pray God will show you what to lessen in your life! Love and blessings to you!

  2. You need to know how your ponderings, aha moments, and “me too” words that you leave in the comment section of my blog bless me. I learn so much as you process out-loud. Thank you for being so honest in how you share what’s going on with you. Sending you love and hugs!

  3. Hey there Lynn
Happy New Year to you and blessings from God our Father in Christ Jesus his Son our Lord and Saviour!
We are so app to our besetting sins , lust of the flesh ,lust of the eyes, lust of life that we sometimes forget that everything we have is a blessing from him.
Including our health which we may take for granted at times,As I’m in recovery from surgery cancer free,God has surely brought me to a place where we may all call upon his mercy and grace as our saviour, yet to call him Lord,Lord of all has definitely taken a new meaning.A clear conscience over besetting sin and to make some changes in life.
Meaning repent and that shall be saved ,I find it easy to call upon our Savior, yet to yield or surrender is easier said than done to the one that payed it all.And yet the Father still reaches down to us in love,How awesome is his Love for us! Trimming the branches or pruning the limbs ,I have recalled Lord in my brokenness over the years use the chainsaw please no messing around and in him and thru him victory is gained.
What a wonderful God we Love and serve when we are unfaithful he is faithful and just !

  4. Lynn, you are such an inspiration to me as you listen to and follow God’s calling for your life as you still yourself to hear where He wants you to go. I can’t wait to see where He leads you! He has gifted you with so many different talents and dreams, all of which I KNOW he will use in His good and perfect time.

  5. These are some lovely shots of your walks around, Lynn. Looks so peaceful. I’ve had quite a few times when that inner voice within me tells me to stop, wait, look around and assess. As a logical person that I am, when that happens I find it hard to pinpoint where that feeling comes from…no where else but to trust it comes from above and there are lessons to be learned and felt. Hope you continue to trust in yourself and God and see where that takes you 🙂
