Seven Ways to Enter Into Rest (Grace & Truth)

So then, there remains a Sabbath-rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10

We put passion and high-effort into the work that God gives us. And we love the work God has given us! But God also wants us to enter his rest. He wants us to experience His rest and His peace.

When we feel frazzled, overwhelmed, or stressed, take a breath and find a way to enter into daily rest. Daily rest with God refreshes, renews, and replenishes our spirit.

Daily rest brings God’s peace into our weary souls.

“Certainly, breathtaking views from mountain tops or trekking through the wonders of a Canandian forest revealed their own unique beauty. But even a simple stroll through my gardens revealed the many ways beauty brings healing and hope.”

  2. Thank you, Lynn. Your reflections here are so needed. As you know, nature calms and refreshes my spirit to rest in God. That’s why I love your photos so much! I’m glad to see you are hosting now. 🙂 Love and blessings to you!

    1. Hi Trudy! I am realizing more and more how photography can refresh the spirit, even if it is shared via a blog. I can’t let me doubts (or enemy attacks) keep me from continuing to share His blessings from nature in this place. Thank you for your words and encouragement. Are there particular scenes you like to see more of? Lakes, mountain, rivers, flowers, fields, or all of the above? 🙂

  3. Lynn, your photos are beautiful (always) and just looking at them brings a rest to my soul. I also appreciated the book recommendations. I’m so glad you are a hostess here too and may God bless you and this community of friends!

    1. Thank you, Joanna. Have you read of the books I recommended? Through Ann Voskamp’s book, I learned so much about what the Eucharist is and what it means to our faith!

  4. Thank you for sharing more of your beautiful photos and thoughts here. I agree with you that rest is so important! Even for someone who does not get out much, my mind needs to take those breathing spaces and rest in His beauty! Love & blessings for you as you host!!

  5. Lynn, I love your suggestions on how to engage rest in our every day! My favorite is sitting in a favorite spot to watch the skies. “The heavens declare the glory of God”, and I find such peace watching a hawk soar, finding pictures in the clouds, or at night, star gazing!!
All of God’s handiwork beckons us come rest with Him!
Thank you for sharing my recent post, I am honored to be featured here!
